QCA Project Spotlights

Aitken Creek Capacity Increase

QCA supported a series of upgrades at the Aitken Creek Gas Storage Facility in Northeastern British Columbia. Our scope included improvements to the existing dehydration system, refrigeration cooler, and demineralized cooling water system. We provided senior-level project management support across the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

Chawathil Revetment

This project highlights QCA’s expertise in safeguarding critical infrastructure while maintaining environmental responsibility. It involved designing and constructing a robust revetment system along Sqwemelweth Creek to protect pipeline infrastructure from erosion, riverbank instability, and to preserve natural salmon spawning habitats. Collaborating closely with engineers, environmental specialists, and local First Nations, we delivered a durable solution that met stringent safety standards and regulatory requirements. By using advanced construction techniques and minimizing environmental impact, QCA successfully achieved a high-quality, innovative outcome for this complex challenge.

Lheidli Tenneh First Nation site wall

The Lheidli Tenneh First Nation site wall project involved the construction of a protective barrier to enhance safety and security for the community. As welding and coating inspectors, our role was to ensure the quality and integrity of all welding and coating throughout the project. This included overseeing the proper welding techniques, material selection, and adherence to safety standards. We completed inspections at various stages of the process to verify compliance with specifications, ensuring that the final product met all structural and safety requirements. This project will contribute to both the safety and aesthetic value of the site, benefiting the First Nation community.

Depth of Cover Surveys

Our team successfully completed multiple comprehensive Depth of Cover surveys. These projects involve evaluating pipeline cover across various terrains, ensuring compliance with depth and accuracy standards. Using calibrated GPS and probing equipment, we recorded precise data, meeting required tolerances for depth and elevation. Key challenges included navigating areas with environmental sensitivities and frozen ground restrictions, all addressed through effective project planning and stakeholder coordination. Weekly reports are submitted to ensure ongoing quality assurance, and any abnormal operating conditions are promptly communicated. This meticulous approach reinforces pipeline safety and regulatory compliance.
